Family History Project

For the Emerging Technology final project our assignment was to learn more about our own family's history. First, I conducted interviews with my family members to gather more information. Next,  I created a Prezi over everything I had learned about my family. Then, I made an Infographic which focused on where my family originated from. Finally, I uploaded all the interviews and presentations onto my blog to share with you! Researching my family was very interesting and a lot of fun! I discovered that my Great Great Grandpa Hunter founded Hunter, Kansas a town that still exists today. My mom and dad were the most helpful in getting the information I needed to complete this project. Also, my grandma Doris sent me new information which was very helpful as well. I am very proud of my completed family history project and will be sharing it with my family at the upcoming reunion this summer. It is important that I know my family history and where I came from.

What Students Really Need to Hear

Read THIS blog post by a teacher. I mean actually read it. Take it in. Think about it. And then, write about it. What do you think about it? What is the teacher trying to say? In your own words explain what "the main event" is.

I think it is very interesting and intriguing that this teacher would write about why he loses sleep over his students. Chase Mielke believes his students are failing the main event of school, adversity. He is in the opinion that instead of us looking for ways to overcome our struggles we quit. Chase loses sleep over his students because he feels like they will not be prepared for the hardships to come. The teacher wrote this blog post to open the eyes of others who may just be getting by in school. He strongly believes school is not about the academics but preparing his students for the "main event". The main event is life after school; how you acted in getting your education will show you if you are ready or not.

Group Stop Motion Animation

Alyssa and I are making "The Adventures of  the Lunchbox" stop motion animation. Yesterday we started the story with the lunchbox escaping from my locker. We worked it out that I would take the pictures on Alyssa's phone while she moved the objects. We didn't get very far yesterday so we still have a majority of our pictures to take.

Stop Animation Reflection

  1. What was your stop motion animation about? Why did you choose your video to be about this? Was it because it was easy, because it would be fun, or it would be challenging? Explain your reasoning behind your project (and be honest).
  2. If you could rate your stop motion on a 1-10 scale. 1 being low effort and no very good and 10 being out of this world/mindblowing, how would you rate your project? Explain why.
  3. In hindsight, what would you do differently the second time around? Better lighting? Time management? Explain yourself.
  4. Explain what makes your stop motion animation unique. How do you believe you thought "outside of the box" on this project?
  5. What grade do you feel you deserve on this project? Explain your reasoning.
For my Stop Motion Animation I decided to make cookies and have them make themselves a pool of milk. I thought this was a good idea for my video because it gave me an excuse to make cookies and it would be fun!

I would give my project a 10/10 because I put a lot of hard work into it. I am confident about the way it turned out and I bet your mind will be blown if you watched it.

If I were to do the project again I would probably get a stand instead of building a stand out of pots and other containers in my kitchen because that was stressful during the picture process.

I know my stop motion is unique because I incorporated a comedic element at the end. My animation is not just cookies being made but has a story line as well which makes it one of a kind.

I feel I deserve all points possible on this project because I put in the dedication needed to make my stop motion animation fantastic. I am very proud how it turned out and have showed it to a lot of people and they all have really enjoyed it!

The Devil

3 day weekend... how was it? Give me a good story or something funny that happened this weekend. Go.

This weekend was very busy that's for sure! On Friday night I performed "A Murder is Announced" in the black box with my rep theater classmates. After that was over we headed over to the cast party where we ate pizza and jammed to throwback songs. On Saturday morning I went and saw the movie "Home" with my family before I had to go to work. When the movie was over they took me over to OPSC to referee four games. Later that evening my friends came and picked me up and took me to dinner at Chipotle. Then, we went to Carynn's house and watched a scary movie. That would be the funny story of my weekend because I am not one to enjoy movies that are called The Devil.

Stop Motion Animaton

Tell me ALL about what your idea is for your stop-motion animation. I need detail. Who is going to help you take photos? What props do you need? Where do you plan on shooting? EXPLAIN everything.
My stop motion animation is going to be of me making cookies and then the cookies getting themself milk. As for props, I am going to need the ingredients to make the cookies as well as milk. In my animation I will show the cookies being made and then show them taking over the kitchen in order to get themselves milk. I am going to take all of these photos in my kitchen at home with help of my sister.

Easter Weekend

Tell me all about your weekend and please share photos!
On Friday night I went to Buffalo Wild Wings with my softball team. When you have a waiter named Peaches you know its going to be a good time. On Saturday, I went thrift shopping with my dad and then had dinner at the Peanut. That night I cried a little inside when m parents told me I had to help them hide Easter eggs this year for my little sister. I really just wanted to get up and be a little kid; running around the house hunting for eggs. Oh well, Easter morning I sang in a couple services at my church and then had lunch at my grandmas house. The rest of the day was very casual and I played basketball outside with my dad and looked at old Easter photos. I had a fun weekend spending time with my family and celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus.
